Willard D. “Bill” Nielsen is a public relations consultant to managements of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. He and his wife, Doris, began calling Talbot County their “home away from home” in 1997 with the purchase of vacation home in St. Michaels. Following Bill’s retirement as a corporate officer of Johnson & Johnson in 2004, they became full time residents and moved from New Jersey to their farm near Wittman. They are both active in community service and have become major sponsors of Plein Air-Easton. In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Nielsen is a frequent guest lecturer at public relations and corporate communications graduate programs at universities across the country. He also serves in industry-sponsored PR leadership training programs and is an Advisory Board Member of the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication at Penn State University. He also serves on several association boards including the Josephson Institute of Ethics whose program, “Character Counts,” is the largest school-based character education program in the country.
