A native of the Bay Hundred area of Talbot County spanning numerous generations, Gary Jones was the Director of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Services for Shore Health System of Maryland/University of Maryland Medical System. During his tenure, he developed new services to include the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Vascular Center, The Center for Cardiovascular Fitness and Wellness, and The Regional Sleep Disorders Center. In addition to those services, he had primary responsibility for Cardiology, Respiratory Care, Neurodiagnostics, and chaired the Cardiac Services Steering Committee for Shore Health System. He was the recipient of numerous professional certifications, citations, and awards. He was advanced to Fellowship status with the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators. Jones was one of the original five Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) providers for Talbot County, a position that required up to 40 hours per week of volunteer commitment. He also served as principal instructor for Paramedic training through Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems for five years. Jones also served on the original Board of Directors for Talbot County Paramedic Foundation. He lived with his wife, Ruth Ann, in Talbot County.
